GEI Consultants, Canada is looking for an Electrical and I&C Lead to play a key role in leading and shaping the electrical, instrumentation, and control systems group at GEI that supports water and wastewater infrastructure. This is an opportunity to lead high-impact projects, work with multidisciplinary teams, and mentor emerging talent - while enjoying flexible work options and a collaborative culture.Essential Responsibilities & Duties
  • Lead an Electrical and Instrumentation & Control (I&C) group at GEI that primarily supports the design and delivery of electrical and I&C systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and related infrastructure.
  • Identify key talent to support the team and work with the talent acquisition team to recruit talented individuals to support the group.
  • Support the delivery of electrical and I&C design backlog and conduct technical QA/QC reviews of electrical and I&C designs to ensure alignment with Client Design Standards, including SCADA standards.
  • Review shop drawings, support construction activities, review PCNs, attend FAT/SAT, and support commissioning activities for ongoing projects.
  • Supervise junior drafting staff in the production of PLC panel drawings, loop drawings, P&IDs, and single line diagrams.
  • Work with Civil team to support the pursuit of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Champion business development efforts, proposals, and client engagement.
  • Provide mentorship to junior staff and contribute to technical excellence across projects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Electrical engineering technology certificate or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience in instrumentation and control systems and SCADA integration, including 5+ years in water/wastewater or municipal infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and business development skills.
  • Physical and environmental requirements for this position are available upon request.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with electrical systems design and installation
  • Experience with PLC programming, HMI development, and commissioning
  • Experience with SCADA systems and standards of Ontario municipal clients including Niagara, Hamilton, Halton, Waterloo, and Peel
