We are seeking a skilled and certified Master Electrician with experience in multi-family residential construction (low- to mid-rise buildings). This role will oversee the entire electrical scope for our projects — from planning to execution — and will ensure quality, code compliance, and safety across all sites. You will work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and tradespeople to ensure timelines and budgets are met.
Compensation:$132,000 per year plus bonus
Responsibilities:- Oversee all electrical installations, inspections, testing, and commissioning for multi-family residential sites (low- to mid-rise buildings).
- Interpret and implement electrical drawings, schematics, and CMHC energy-efficiency standards.
- Supervise journeyman and apprentice electricians; provide support, mentorship, and training as required.
- Ensure compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), Alberta safety regulations, and permitting processes.
- Coordinate electrical scope with general contractors, inspectors, consultants, and utility providers (e.g., EPCOR).
- Estimate material and labour requirements; ensure timely procurement and inventory control.
- Maintain documentation of inspections, reports, redline drawings, and change orders.
- Provide leadership during walkthroughs, commissioning, deficiency reviews, and turnover.
Mandatory Certifications & Licensing
- Red Seal Certified Journeyman Electrician.
- Alberta Master Electrician License in good standing.
- Valid Electrical Contractor ID (preferred, or willingness to register under Briarstone's permit if applicable).
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean abstract.
- Current WHMIS, Fall Protection, and First Aid certifications.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of field experience as a Master or Journeyman Electrician in residential or multi-family construction.
- Proven ability to run crews and manage site electrical work independently.
- Experience working with multi-family mid-rise (wood frame) projects preferred.
- Familiarity with low-voltage systems, fire alarms, EV chargers, and energy efficiency upgrades is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
