This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Clio - Cloud-Based Legal Technology. We are currently looking for a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist in Vancouver.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a high-performing team that is transforming legal services through innovation. In this hybrid role, you'll contribute directly to the effectiveness of the company's procure-to-pay operations while shaping best practices in compliance, automation, and vendor relations. With a focus on policy development, system optimization, and stakeholder collaboration, you'll play a key part in ensuring financial integrity and operational excellence. Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement accounts payable policies and procedures that align with internal controls and organizational values.
  • Manage AP reporting, vendor analysis, expense reviews, and oversee payment operations for accuracy and compliance.
  • Support the travel and expense program to ensure timely and policy-compliant submissions and reconciliations.
  • Assist in implementing and enhancing P2P systems (such as Coupa), identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency.
  • Establish and monitor vendor onboarding and compliance processes; coordinate with legal and procurement for contract adherence.
  • Engage internal stakeholders to improve the end-to-end procure-to-pay process and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage month-end close activities, invoice/PO accruals, and serve as the AP point of contact for cross-department communication.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in accounts payable or financial operations, with strong familiarity in AP systems like Coupa, Concur, or NetSuite.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including mentoring or managing team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a drive for continuous process optimization.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across departments.
  • Experience preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end close activities.
  • A proactive mindset with a keen eye for identifying automation opportunities and policy enhancements.
