We are looking to add a Heavy Equipment Operator to our team.

Position Title: Heavy Equipment Operator
Reports to: General Superintendent
Department: Projects
Work Location: Leduc, AB and the surrounding area

Position Summary
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and effective operation of heavy equipment, including excavators and dozers. This position requires direct experience in earthworks projects, oilfield waste management, remediation/reclamation, or oilfield construction.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safe and effective operation of heavy equipment including excavators, dozers and associated attachments
  • Perform preventative maintenance, and daily operation checks
  • Execute a variety of projects to the specifications of the customer, under the guidance of the site supervisor and project manager
  • Effectively collaborates with crew and customer to ensure mutually agreeable outcomes and resolve any potential conflicts
  • Acts independently with minimal supervision
  • Perform general labourer tasks as required
  • Safely Work and/or travel in varied terrains, weather conditions, isolated locations and by various means of transportation
  • Commitment to working safely and following safety protocol

Qualifications

  • Direct experience in earthworks projects, oilfield waste management, pipeline integrity digs, demolition, reclamation/remediation, civil construction, and/or oilfield construction.
  • 3 years or 5,000 hours in Heavy Equipment Operation (Excavator, Dozer etc.)
  • Proficient in operating both excavators and dozers is preferred
  • Landfill construction experience is desired.
  • GPS Dozer experience is an asset
  • Finishing experience is considered an asset
  • Possession of a valid class 5 Drivers License (or equivalent) with a clean driving record
  • Valid Safety Tickets (H2S, First Aid, CSTS, Ground Disturbance)
  • Grade 12 or GED
  • Available to work 21/7 or 14/4 work schedules
  • Intermediate computer skills to successfully utilize intranet resources, complete online safety orientation, and HR onboarding tasks
  • Physically fit, able to lift 50 pounds, and able to work on feet for long periods of time
  • Can work well as a team member or independently with little direction
