Job DescriptionUnder the direction/supervision of the clinical team, you will perform direct patient services tasks including: assisting with patient turns, mobilization and transport. Accommodation and support services responsibilities including: ordering supplies, daily restocking of supplies in patient care rooms and supply storage areas, maintain and distribute departmental monitoring equipment, transporting patient specimens to the pneumatic tube and contributing to the maintenance of a safe work environment.
Qualifications- Personal Support Worker Certificate required from an accredited institution
- Basic Knowledge of Aseptic Techniques
- Current C.P.R.
- Recent related experience with acutely ill patients including knowledge of the complex needs of the critical care patient
- Recent experience working in a highly technical patient care environment
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and comprehension skills
- Flexibility to meet unit needs
- Ability to work well with team members
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Meditech system
- Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record required
- Ability to travel between and work at all hospitals as required
- Able to handle physical requirements of the job (ability to lift at least 25-30 pounds)
- Able transport patients in via ICU bed to and from procedures
- Able to transport equipment to and from storage area
Additional Information
Hours: Currently Days/Evenings, 8 hour shifts including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
