DescriptionHi there, we're Article. Since 2013, we have been redefining the furniture industry one sofa at a time, it's not easy — it requires solving challenging, meaningful problems. This is where you come in, as a Financial Analyst, you'll drive insights that shape our budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting, helping our teams make smarter and faster financial decisions.
Why We Need You:
Our FP&A team is on the hunt for a Financial Analyst who's ready to roll up their sleeves and dive into the numbers that help keep Article moving. From budgeting to forecasting, you'll be the go-to for turning data into direction, helping teams across the business make confident, informed decisions.
This role is all about bringing clarity to complexity. You'll help us stay on top of our financial game as we grow, making sure our models and reporting actually mean something to the people using them.
Why Article?
As a Particle (people of Article), you will have a high level of autonomy to solve challenging, meaningful problems the best way you can. That means you're trusted to explore solutions you believe will work best (you're the expert, after all). You'll do all this while growing your skills within a company that is redefining the furniture industry.
About The Team:
We are a hybrid team - you'll be in the office 3 days per week.
What You'll Do
  • Own and maintain key financial models that support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning, especially around revenue, COGS, and logistics.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Logistics, and BI to deliver accurate, timely insights that help teams stay on track.
  • Support the quarterly and annual planning cycles by building input templates and aligning with cross-functional partners.
  • Analyze performance against forecasts, flag variances, and dig into the “why” behind the numbers.
  • Lead budget meetings with department owners to align expectations and track progress.
  • Build KPI dashboards and performance reports that make it easy for stakeholders to spot trends and take action.
  • Support facility-level budgeting, including logistics costs like wages, rent, and operating expenses.
  • Help evolve our forecasting tools through automation and better data visualization.
  • Partner on ad hoc analysis projects that answer big business questions and uncover new opportunities.
  • Keep financial data clean and consistent by reconciling models with Accounting actuals.
  • We use G Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Google Docs, Meet, etc) to work and Slack to collaborate and communicate, with your choice of Mac or PC device.

Who You Are
  • 2–4 years of experience in FP&A or a related field — you've built your skills in financial analysis and are ready to go deeper.
  • You know your way around Excel (think: power queries, pivot tables, and nested formulas) because strong models are your foundation for smart decision-making.
  • Comfortable explaining the story behind the numbers: your insights help others take action, not just nod.
  • You've worked with large data sets and cross-functional teams, so you know how to pull signals from noise and partner with others to make things happen.
  • You thrive in fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environments: when the path isn't clear, you help build it.
  • Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis: you know where to dig in and what to flag.
  • Communicate clearly, whether it's a deck, a one-pager, or a quick verbal update, because numbers only matter if people understand them.
  • You take initiative and own your work: you see challenges as opportunities to level up your impact.
  • Legally able to work in Canada.
  • Completion of a criminal background check.
