Your Role: Lumber Take-Off Estimator reporting to our VP Sales & Design

What You Bring:

  • Read, interpret, and understand blueprints and building codes related to residential, commercial projects.
  • Produce accurate material takeoffs and cost estimates for lumber and related materials using software tools.
  • Ability to examine drawings and blueprints for intent, conformity, and error.
  • Estimate the quantity and types of lumber and related materials needed for various construction projects.
  • Generate quotes quickly, efficiently, and accurately for customers.
  • Exceptional customer service attitude to maintain excellent client interaction.
  • Communicate with engineers, architects, and contractors regarding project details before and during construction.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with co-workers.
  • Demonstrated skills working in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Attend and participate in company-sponsored training programs as required.

Qualifications:

  • Technical diploma in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Work experience in the lumber or construction materials industry is an asset and would supersede educational experience.
  • Knowledge of construction processes and materials related to single-family, multi-family, and light commercial wood-framed construction.
  • Understanding of local building codes and construction practices.
  • Possess the skills to work with multiple software platforms
    • Proficient with computers is a must
