Job Summary:The Auto Body Refinisher / Painter is responsible for preparing and refinishing damaged vehicles to pre-accident condition using industry-standard techniques, tools, and materials. The successful candidate must be able to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, while consistently maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform sanding, masking, priming, and sealing of repaired surfaces.
- Mix and match paint to ensure accurate color matching.
- Apply base coat, clear coat, and other finishes using spray equipment.
- Inspect and ensure the final finish meets quality standards.
- Follow standard operating procedures for safety and environmental compliance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist in minor bodywork when required.
- Perform quality control inspections before and after painting.
- Work collaboratively with prep and body technicians to ensure workflow efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 2+ years of experience in automotive refinishing or painting.
- Red Seal Certification or Journeyman.
- Proficient in color mixing and blending techniques.
- Familiarity with waterborne and solvent-based paint systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer - no sponsorship is available now or in the future.
