TWD is currently seeking a Civil Structural Designer to support our office based in Edmonton, Alberta for a permanent or contract position!

Job Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development of civil and structural designs for infrastructure projects, encompassing elements such as roads, bridges, dams, and drainage systems, in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Utilize CAD software and BIM tools to create and refine detailed drawings and models of civil and structural components, ensuring accuracy and compliance with design requirements.
• Collaborate with senior designers and engineers to implement design changes and optimizations based on project feedback and technical considerations.

• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, plans, and specifications, to support the civil and structural design process, maintaining clarity and completeness of documentation.
• Manage design revisions and updates, maintaining accurate records of versions, changes, and project milestones to facilitate effective communication and coordination.
• Assist in reviewing and verifying design documentation to ensure alignment with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, geotechnical engineers, and project managers, to integrate civil and structural designs into overall infrastructure plans and specifications.
• Participate in design coordination meetings and contribute to resolving design-related issues, optimizing structural performance, and mitigating project risks.
• Communicate proactively with internal and external stakeholders to convey design intent, address technical inquiries, and facilitate project progress.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 6-10 years of experience in civil and structural design or related roles within the infrastructure sector.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and BIM tools (e.g., Revit) with a solid understanding of civil and structural design principles and practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
