Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and self-reliant Turret Punch Press Setup Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate must be capable of handling all aspects of machine setup, operation, troubleshooting, and quality assurance independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Independently set up, program, and operate turret punch press machines (e.g., Amada, Trumpf, or similar).
Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications.
Select the correct tools, punches, and dies for each job.
Program punch patterns and tool paths with minimal supervision.
Inspect parts for accuracy using calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain precision.
Troubleshoot machine and tooling issues to minimize downtime.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the punch press and related equipment.
Ensure safe operation and maintain a clean and organized workstation.
Take full ownership of production deadlines, quality control, and reporting.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of full-cycle turret punch press operation experience in Canada.
Proven ability to work independently, manage workload, and troubleshoot issues without oversight.
Strong understanding of metal types, punch press tooling, and programming logic.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and CAD layouts.
Skilled in using measurement instruments and maintaining tight tolerances.
Mechanically inclined and highly detail-oriented.
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working on feet throughout the shift.
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification is an asset.
