About the Role:

The Northern Alberta YMCA is looking for a Personal Trainer to deliver high quality services in the Fitness Centre area. The Personal Trainer will provide fitness services to members, provide safe exercise prescription, support clients in meeting their fitness goals and role model customer service excellence at all times.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality individual and group personal training sessions for clients, taking into account client goals and abilities while ensuring safety and enjoyment of the client.
  • Complete administrative duties related to clients; Get Active Questionnaire, waivers, Personal Training Tracking Log effectively and in a timely manner. Respond to client phone calls, messages and emails in a timely manner.
  • Always offer high quality customer service when working with members, engage with members and clients, develop positive relationships and offer support. Work with them to help them reach their fitness goals.
  • Prospect new clients as needed and promote the YMCA and Adult Fitness & Lifestyle services to patrons.
  • Build and maintain a positive relationship with volunteers and colleagues at all levels of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Current personal training certification from an approved certifying body: CSEP-CPT, CanFitPro PTS, ISSA Personal Trainer, YMCA Personal Trainer
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (Bachelor of Physical Education, NAIT-PFT) is considered an asset
  • Standard First Aid and CPR-C
  • Previous experience personal training is considered an asset
