Why we have this role:

The Pellet Mill Supervisor ensures the safe, efficient, and consistent production of high-quality pellets at our Grand Valley Fortifiers facility. This role leads daily operations, oversees the Pellet Mill Operator, and maintains equipment while upholding safety, quality, and performance standards. Success requires strong leadership, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail.

Working with us:

This is a permanent, full-time position operating out of our facility at 455 Dobbie Drive, Cambridge, Ontario. The regular working hours are Monday to Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.

What you'll do:

  • Lead day-to-day production operations, including planning, scheduling, and shift supervision.
  • Act as a key liaison between plant leadership, internal teams, and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, CFIA, MOE, and company safety standards.
  • Train and onboard new team members on equipment and procedures.
  • Oversee employee scheduling, breaks, and adherence to company policies.
  • Ensure timely, high-quality production order fulfillment and accurate labeling.
  • Monitor inventory, support stock rotation (FIFO), and report material shortages.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Enforce proper use of PPE and uniform compliance.
  • Track and report operational issues, safety concerns, and supply needs.

Your background includes:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of feed manufacturing experience with preference given to those with direct pellet mill experience.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP, CFIA regulations, and quality standards.
  • Skilled in batching systems and production software.
  • Effective communicator with strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Forklift experience (stand-up and sit-down); valid G-class drivers license.
  • Physically able to lift 55 lbs and perform manual work.
  • Team-oriented, reliable, and committed to continuous improvement.
