Salary: $30 Hourly

Cabin Operations Ltd. has built a foundation of experience and dedication to quality and innovative solutions in three main divisions: environmental operations, recreation solutions and wildfire management. We are currently looking to add a Chainsaw Operator: Wildfire Mitigation to our Wildfire Operations Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of Wildfire Fuel Mitigation/FireSmart/Ecosystem Restoration Projects
  • General duties of: chainsaw thinning/slashing, pile burning, piling and pruning
  • Operating tracked and tow behind chippers
  • Working under the Wildfire Supervisor to maintain safety and plan onsite wildfire
    prevention
  • Equipment, maintenance and logistical support
  • Production tracking and reporting
  • Infield Quality Control

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Required minimum 1-2 years working on wildfire fuel mitigation projects/brushing
    projects.
  • Required experience 1+ years working on wildfire suppression crews.
  • Required S-100/S-185 certifications.
  • Required to be available to regularly travel and work for extended periods in a living outarrangement.
  • Required 1-2 years of chainsaw experience.
  • Required drivers license with clean abstract.
  • BCFSC, CAGC, and BC Wildfire Falling certification would be considered an asset.
  • Wildfire, Park or Silviculture DTA would be considered an asset.
  • Heavy equipment experience would be considered an asset
