The Opportunity:
BluMetric Environmental Inc. is seeking a motivated and reliable student to work as a production assistant/Shop Technician for shop employees and installation crews. The ideal candidate is reliable and must be physically fit, as the work involves lifting and maneuvering items within our metal fabrication shop. This student position will be full-time within our Carp Production facility. Production hours are from 6:30am 2:45pm. A valid drivers license and access to reliable transportation would be mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating basic hand tools.
- Assisting with assembly and disassembly.
- Assisting machine operators and welders.
- Material handling and general cleaning.
- Loading and unloading building materials.
- Working safely within a busy fabrication shop setting.
- Interacting with Production and Office staff at the Production facility.
Qualifications, Education, and Skills:
- Currently enrolled in one of the following programs:
- Mechanical Engineering Technology
- Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician
- Electrical Engineering Technology
- Electrical Engineering Technician program
- Experience working with a variety of building materials including PVC, stainless steel, galvanized steel, fiberglass, and wood.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Ability to work both unsupervised and as part of a work team.
- Experience using a variety of shop equipment and power tools.
- Safety minded and self-motivated.
- Quick learner with a positive, helpful attitude.
- Must possess suitable attire for a shop environment
- Valid drivers license and access to reliable transportation is a must.
