Salary: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00(Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, certification/s and location.)

The Opportunity:


BluMetric is currently seeking an Applications Engineer or Engineering Intern (EIT) to join our WaterTech team in Ontario, reporting to the Senior Applications Engineer. The successful candidate will take ownership of the design of water and wastewater treatment systems using reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, media filtration, membrane bioreactors, and other unit operations while collaborating with senior team members for technical guidance and project alignment. You will play a key role in generating proposals, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and supporting the execution of awarded projects. This position requires a combination of technical acumen, interpersonal strength, and business awareness to help drive the success of our water treatment solutions. Strong communication and organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for balancing several projects and proposals simultaneously.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Generate budgetary and firm price proposals, including detailed process designs, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and general arrangement drawings.
  • Work closely with the Senior Applications Engineer and Business Development team to translate client needs into effective, value-engineered solutions.
  • Apply costing and develop process design strategies to position BluMetric competitively during the early stages of project development. Develop and maintain relationships with market leaders, client managers, and customers.
  • Assist with sales calls, design-kickoff meetings, and coordination of consultants and suppliers to support proposal success and foster client relationships.
  • Provide engineering support as assigned and maintain a working knowledge of projects, including generating proposals, process designs, process and instrumentation and general arrangement drawings.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., procurement, project management) to ensure alignment between proposal commitments and execution capacity.
  • Prepare and maintain internal documentation and adhere to all internal procedures related to bid preparation, proposal tracking, order packages, and forecasting.
  • Foster relationships with consultants, vendors, and industry stakeholders to ensure alignment with current best practices and emerging technologies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Degree in process, chemical, or mechanical engineering from an accredited school and/ or hold a P.Eng. license in Ontario/ equivalent in Quebec in good standing. Professional license in other jurisdictions is an asset.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience working on industrial projects in the water and wastewater field; mining industry experience would be a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated expertise with the use of AutoCAD and other standard scientific and engineering software and applications. Biowin and RO modelling programs are an asset.
  • Ability to interact and work in a project team environment with all types of clients and teammates; proactive and able to manage time well; able to build relationships.
  • Ability to work and complete tasks independently, make decisions and take responsibility on technical matters.
  • Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of programs.
  • Must be able to attend industrial sites and observe all applicable safety regulations.
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
  • A valid drivers license.
  • Reliability-level security clearance (or eligibility to obtain one) is required for this role, due to the nature of certain client and project work
  • Occasional travel may be necessary depending on project needs. Weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines. The role may involve exposure to typical manufacturing environment hazards; safety protocols must be followed at all times.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn when required.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.
