Evergreen Sheet Metal (2018)has been operating in the BC Lower Mainland HVAC and Sheet Metal Industry for over 15 years, and we are currently looking for aSheet Metal Estimator to join our team at our office in Maple Ridge.This is a full-time, permanent and long-term position.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Sheet Metal Estimatoris responsible for using Quotesoft to take off the complete project sheet metal scope as well as filling in any missing information on drawings per SMACNA Standard and local municipal standards. The Sheet Metal Estimator is also responsible for maintaining an estimating database and collaborating with other team members as required.
The ideal candidate will be diligent in document control, have previous experience in Sheet Metal and be enthusiastic about further expanding their knowledge of the construction field. The candidate will be comfortable with a fast-paced and dynamic environment and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The Sheet Metal Estimator will:
- Review project drawings and specifications to fully understand each project.
- Use Trimble QuickPen to take off all sheet metal and mechanical scope from the mechanical drawings.
- Prepare estimating data reports.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Send RFQs to suppliers.
- Assist with design and value engineering phases.
- Review proposals, drawings, and specifications to determine labour, material, and time requirements for new construction projects.
- Accurately estimate project costs and work with developers, superintendents, and foremen to manage scope changes, updating estimates as needed.
- Conduct weekly site visits with foremen and clients to monitor progress, ensure quality, and address issues.
- Collaborate with the team to suggest cost-saving measures for labour, materials, and waste.
- Help develop and improve procedures for new construction projects.
- Maintain clear communication with internal teams, developers, and suppliers, managing change orders, permits, and project updates.
- Create, issue, and track purchase orders. Review and verify pricing against POs, audit discrepancies, and assist with issuing contracts and purchase orders.
- Provide backup for progress billing and other administrative tasks as required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures both in-office and on-site.
- Support management with assigned project tasks.
- Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal design, industry equipment, and HVAC systems.
- Previous experience in a similar estimating role is considered a strong asset.
- Red Seal Certification in Sheet Metal is required.
- Formal education in mechanical systems design is an asset.
- Proficiency in construction software specifically Quotesoft, BlueBeam and Revizto. CAD knowledge is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Procore is required.
Work Conditions
- This is a full-time position.
- This is a mix of site and office-based position.
- Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computers and peripherals.
- Able to lift 25 pounds.
- Overtime as required.
- Walking through uneven grounds on construction job sites.
- ESM employees work a standard 40-hour work week, but hours of work may vary based on business requirements from time to time.

Compensation: $80,000 to $108,000/year (DOE) + 5% RRSP + Phone Allowance + 100% company-paid benefits + LTD + AD&D + Life Insurance.
