We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to support the accuracy and integrity of inventory across both consignment and internal warehouse locations. Reporting to the Materials Manager, this position is responsible for executing inventory process audits, conducting weekly system health checks, reconciling inventory data, and providing hands-on operational support. The ideal candidate will split their time between system oversight and on-the-floor engagement, ensuring compliance with inventory control procedures, identifying and resolving system-related issues, and supporting the warehouse and production teams with real-time problem-solving. This position is based out of Stayner, Ontario. What you'll be doing:
  • Maintain compliance with The Cannabis Act and other applicable regulations.
  • Build and maintain productive working relationships with 3PL consignment customers.
  • Execute internal inventory Spot audits and perform SAP system health checks; generate reports and make recommendations based on results.
  • Perform process control audits to ensure warehouse teams are adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs). Spend approximately 50% of work time on the warehouse floor, supporting, observing, and reinforcing inventory control practices.
  • Monitor EWM/IM queues, warehouse tasks and orders, and staging bin accuracy as part of weekly system health checks.
  • Track and report on expired or at-risk materials, working closely with the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure timely disposition.
  • Review Inventory storage locations transactions, identify discrepancies, and escalate issues to the appropriate business unit for investigation and corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular floor-to-sheet audits to verify consistency between physical stock and system data.
  • Troubleshoot inventory system errors in collaboration with the warehouse, QA, and production teams.
  • Coordinate and support physical inventory events, including planning, execution, and reconciliation as required.
  • Contribute to process automation, system upgrades, and inventory improvement projects that drive operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist with the planning and participate in cycle count audits and year end physical inventory audits as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Your Environment: (for production specific roles only)
  • Physically active role involving frequent walking, standing, bending, and occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs).
  • Exposure to allergens and varying temperatures common to warehouse environments.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required during inventory audits or peak periods.
You'll need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or a similar environment, preferably in consumer packaged goods (CPG) or manufacturing.
  • CPIM, PMAC/CPP, or other supply chain certification preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems, with hands-on experience in SAP EWM/IM highly preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; familiarity with Access, Power BI, or other analytical tools is a strong asset.
  • Solid understanding of inventory reconciliation, auditing principles, and process control frameworks.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation abilities.
  • Adaptability to high-change environments and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to provide a clear Criminal Record Check.
