- Manage and maintain up to date training, while providing motivation and mentoring to contracted site security team while ensuring all staff are meeting company standards such as:
- Providing outstanding and personalized customer service as a front-line representative of Regal Security
- Maintaining uniform standards and professional deportment
- Enforcing property rules and regulations in order to maintain the security and safety of our clients and their assets
- Operating and maintain an organized environment
- Logging in and out of site equipment to internal and external users
- Monitoring CCTV and Access Control systems
- Responding to all emergency situations (medical, etc.)
- Ensuring that safety and emergency protocols are completed in response to Fire Alarms and other Site Emergencies
- Completing walking patrols and inspections of facilities and equipment
- Reviewing, know and follow post orders as identified for site representing
- Maintaining a safe working environment and follow the facilities health and safety procedures
- Enforcing the Trespass to Property Act
- Safely operate and maintain company and client issued equipment and supplies
- Responding to major incidents on property and aid security staff with managing the situation (fire, flood, medical issue and criminal activity)
- Develop and maintain a positive professional relationship with tenants, customers, emergency services and other agencies as they relate to the site
- Act as a first line support for shift guards who encounter incidents or difficulties and escalate as appropriate to customer or Regal management
- Provide input to maintain up to date policies, manuals and plans for the site
- Operate Regal patrol vehicle for the purposes of parking patrolling and for vehicle fuel up and maintenance
- Meet with client representatives on a daily basis for site security needs
- Report to Regal Account Services Manager on site activities, positive interactions and service challenges
- Coordinate with Regal Head Office team for items involving staff scheduling, HR, equipment, employee relations, etc.
- Ensure all site staff are properly trained on site protocols and training documentation is completed
- Evaluate and manage supervisor and guard employee performance and provide evaluations, coaching and if necessary, verbal and written warnings
- Review daily and incident reports for compliance with spelling, grammar and details for submission to client and Regal
- Ensure all instances of arrests and/or use of force have been properly recorded, documented and footage retained for any legal requirements
- Confirm patrol vehicle maintenance check list are completed and vehicle is properly fueled, and oil checks completed
- Coordinate parking infraction warnings to be issued to illegally parked vehicles
- Provide daily, weekly and monthly reporting for security activities to client and Regal as needed
- Perform security guard duties if required and other duties as otherwise assigned by Regal Management
- Full-time availability required; The main schedule will be during the weekday time, but there is a requirement for flexibility to adjust schedule to shifts that consist of afternoons, overnight and weekend shifts – including holidays and weekends; as required.
- Willingness to respond remotely and in-person to urgent site issues and emergencies
- Experience in providing Excellent Customer Service
- Experience with Handcuff Training/Use of Force experience or certification
- Experience in managing Emergency Situations in a mall retail environment such as; Fire, Flood, Medical Emergency, Criminal Activity, Armed Assailants, etc.
- Ability and experience in leading a security team consisting of 8-10 members in a 24/7 operational team environment
- Experience in a security supervisory position preferably related to retail security
- Proficient knowledge of Trespass to Property Act, Criminal Code, Federal, Provincial and Municipal Legislation and Regulations
- Adept communication skills, both oral and written, displaying tact and diplomacy as well as excellent decision making and conflict resolution skills
- Able to maintain discretion and privacy of information and knowledge
- Valid Ontario Security License.
- Valid First Aid/CPR Certification.
- Valid G Class Driver's license with clean driving record for operation of company patrol vehicle for parking patrols.
- Valid WHMIS Certification.
- Secondary School Diploma or equivalent and higher (preference will be given to those with a Criminal Justice or Business post-secondary education);
- Proficient in the use of various computer programs (ie. Microsoft Office, Gmail) and able to adapt and learn new programs.
