Title: Automotive Body Technician
Reports To: Production Manager
Summary: Auto Body Technicians repair vehicles after they have been damaged in an accident or other incident. They use a wide array of tools to dismantle the vehicle, replace parts, and repair dents and scratches.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for repairing collision/damaged vehicles according to manufacturer specifications and company standards.
- Responsible for removing and replacing vehicle body panels.
- Realign vehicle frames and chassis to repair structural vehicle damage.
- Fit, attach, and weld metal and aluminum replacement parts into place.
- Metal finishing.
- Body filler.
- Bond and rivet panels.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 310B auto body and collision repair license.
- Class G driver's license with the ability to operate automatic and manual transmissions.
- 2-5+ years of collision repair experience as a Body Man / Body Woman in a production body shop.
- Ability to properly complete light to heavy repairs (hard hits), including structural and frame rails work.
- Above average quality focus.
- High production capabilities.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
- Production shop can be dusty and noisy.
- Production shop can have odors such as fumes from paint, cars, and various cleaning supplies.
- Lifting vehicle parts such as panels, bumpers, etc. is required.
