The Role

We are experiencing fast growth and are searching for a junior and experienced carpenter/framer to join our team! Sunvalley Constructions values dedication, a positive attitude, and attention to detail in our employees, and we are looking for new team members who value the same.

Applicants must have a valid driver's licence and their own hand tools. A zoom-boom is on site. In this role, you will be expected to have a working knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in carpentry and framing.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

• Install foundations and floor beams, lay subfloors, build and install walls, install trusses and roof sheathing.
• Shape or cut materials to specified measurements using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
• Understand how to read blueprints, sketches, or building plans.
• Understand customer expectations.
• Undertake finishing tasks including window installation.
• Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground levels.
• Move necessary materials around the job site as assigned.
• Clean up worksite debris.

The Successful Applicant

To be successful in these roles, you must be a team player with strong communication skills, detail-oriented, reliable, dedicated to safety at all times, and fit to undertake physically demanding tasks.

The ideal experienced candidate should have a minimum of two years of experience. The junior candidate must have a strong work ethic, an interest in carpentry and building, and a desire to learn.
