About the Role

As an experienced Regional Sourcing Specialist, you'll be instrumental in supporting our North America and South America operations. Reporting to our Category Manager and working closely with the key regional stakeholders, you will develop, lead, and execute local, regional, and national componentry sourcing plans.

Leveraging your strategic sourcing expertise in a heavy engineering environment, you'll conduct comprehensive country market analysis. This includes gaining a deep understanding of competitive dynamics, identifying market discontinuities, and providing rich insights into external environmental, political, and legal factors that impact market conditions.

Beyond analysis, you'll be a key architect of our partnerships. You'll champion all regional procurement and sourcing activities for Global Components, skillfully identifying and engaging strategic vendors. You'll possess strong negotiation skills focused on value creation and win-win outcomes, expertly crafting and implementing commercial agreements that drive our success.

Key Criteria for Success:

  • 5-10 years of experience in global sourcing, category management, or procurement role within a Multinational Enterprise (MNE).
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic sourcing within a heavy engineering or related environment, ideally within the mining or heavy manufacturing sectors.
  • Proven ability to develop fact-based business cases.
  • Tertiary qualification (degree) in Business, Commerce, Engineering, or a related discipline is desired; practical experience is paramount.
  • International experience is a plus; regional experience will also be considered.
  • Proficiency with tools such as ERP for Procurement, Microsoft Excel, P2P, B2B, MS Word, and PowerPoint.

The Ideal Candidate Profile (Soft Skills & Attributes):

  • Empathetic and results-driven, maintaining strategic focus.
  • Strong negotiation skills and influential communicator who builds solid relationships.
  • Resilient critical thinker who thrives in dynamic and non-traditional environments.

This role is open to being based on either:

  • Edmonton, Canada
  • Toronto, Canada
  • Phoenix, Arizona, USA
