Our client, a prominent manufacturing organization, seeks a Cost Accountant to join their finance team. This role supports production, procurement, and engineering groups by ensuring accurate operational and financial reporting while driving cost efficiencies. You will maintain data integrity aligned with corporate standards and proactively identify opportunities for process improvement.
You will develop and implement labor costing models at the job-order level, calculate annual/quarterly material and overhead rates, and perform critical variance analysis between quoted and actual costs. Responsibilities include generating weekly performance reports, reconciling raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventories, and collaborating with procurement on PPV tracking. Month-end duties encompass journal entries, COGS summaries, and balance sheet reconciliations. Additionally, youll analyze inventory/production trends, recommend process enhancements, and support internal/external audits through meticulous documentation and controls.
The ideal candidate holds a Degree in Accounting or Finance with 35 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or fast-paced environments. You possess expertise in budgeting, financial analysis, and inventory management, with advanced Excel proficiency and hands-on ERP system exposure. Strong communication skills are essential to convey insights across departments, and the client values self-driven problem-solvers who build stakeholder relationships to optimize costs.
