Term of App't: Monday - Friday, 17.5 hours per week (11:30am - 3:00pm)

Reporting to: Dean of Health Sciences & Human Services


Salary/Benefits:

Classification 8, $24,337.53 - $25,090.24 per annum, as per the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Our leaves entitlements include vacation, 59.50 hours annually (pro-rated and front loaded), as well as time off for family and personal illness, and other special leaves. We offer competitive extended health and dental benefits, upon the completion 6 months. Closure during the Christmas Break (Dec 25 - Jan 1st) of each year is paid time off.

Description:


NLC's Health Sciences programs is currently looking to hire an individual to help support a team of instructors who are educating our future Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides. The successful applicants are required to have effective teamwork skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to perform a variety of clerical support tasks.

Typical duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • typing, filing, photocopying, word processing and data entry.
  • record keeping, minute taking, and report compilation for the BC Care Aide Registry, British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals, and additional Health-related bodies.
  • Ordering, receiving, and stocking equipment and supplies for the nursing lab.
  • Updating and maintaining program procedure manuals, orientation materials, welcome letters, timetables, clinical schedules, program handbooks, and
  • Communication out to students as directed by program chair or Dean.

Qualifications:

In order to be considered for this position, you will need to have completed Grade 12 and a post-secondary Office Administration program or have an equivalent combination of education and office experience.

Preference will be given to those who have previous work experience in the health care field.

Experience with and knowledge of Campus policies, procedures and conditions would be an asset. Successful completion of clerical testing will be required.
