Principal tasks and responsibilities include:

• Handle full-cycle accounts payable, including processing staff reimbursements, cheque requests, vendor invoices, and EFTs
  
• Code expenses accurately to appropriate GL accounts
  
• Set up new vendors and manage updates in Sage
  
• Support daily accounts receivable tasks including deposits, coding revenue, and issuing invoices for fee-based services
  
• Maintain clean, organized financial records (paper and digital)
  
• Reconcile bank accounts and assist with month-end journal entries and accruals
  
• Review revenue and expense accounts for discrepancies or cleanup needs
  
• Ensure all documentation is audit-ready and organized
  
• Respond to internal questions regarding payables and receivables

We're hiring on behalf of an incredible nonprofit organization based in the GTA that supports individuals and families in the autism community. They're known for their compassionate, inclusive culture and their impact across Ontario. With some recent transitions, they're looking for hands-on support in finance to help clean up files and stabilize core processes. It's a fast-paced team where your work will have a direct impact, and they're incredibly appreciative of people who jump in and take initiative.
Qualifications and pre-requisites:

• 1-3+ years of accounting experience (nonprofit or public sector is a bonus)
  
• Experience handling both AP and AR
  
• Detail-oriented and comfortable cleaning up messy records or catching errors
  
• Familiar with Sage (preferred, not required)
  
• Comfortable working in a hybrid environment (3 days/week onsite)
  
• Available to start immediately and commit through the end of the project
