Are you a skilled mechanic who takes pride in keeping things running smoothly? Muskoka Lumber, a trusted supplier in the region, is looking for a licensed 310T Truck and Coach Technician (Mechanic) to join our Port Carling team. In this role, youll provide essential maintenance and repair support to both the Muskoka Lumber fleet and customers, as well as the Proline Rentals & Bins fleet, under a service agreement.

In this hands-on role, youll be essential to maintaining and repairing our fleet of trucks and trailers, as well as light and heavy equipment. Youll work closely with our yard and delivery teams to ensure safe, reliable transportation of building materials and equipment throughout the region. Key Responsibilities:


As a 310T Mechanic at Muskoka Lumber, youll play a vital role in keeping our fleet in top condition and our deliveries on schedule.

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of heavy and light equipment, including excavators, backhoes, trucks, forklifts, trailers, and other machinery.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections to ensure all vehicles meet Ministry of Transportation (MTO) standards, including:
    • Annual Safety Inspections (Yellow Sticker)
    • Pre-service and periodic inspections
    • Proper documentation and certification of all inspections and repairs
    • Compliance with all applicable MTO safety regulations and standards
  • Diagnose and repair issues with engines, brakes, steering, bearings and seals, hydraulics, electrical systems, and more.
  • Complete accurate service records, inspection reports, and work orders.
  • Communicate with drivers and managers to efficiently schedule and prioritize repairs.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment.
  • Travel to company or customer sites, as needed, to service or repair equipment and vehicles on-site.
  • Follow all Muskoka Lumber policies and procedures, as well as applicable legislation.
  • Assist with other tasks as needed to support the team and keep operations running smoothly.

  • Valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician License.
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, with experience working on heavy trucks and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and manage repair schedules efficiently.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to company and customer sites to perform on-site equipment and vehicle repairs, as needed.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to jump in and support the team.
  • Valid G drivers license (DZ or AZ license is an asset but not required), with an acceptable drivers' record.
  • Ability to work within a flexible schedule, including occasional overtime.
  • Ability to lift and handle heavy parts and equipment up to 80lbs, and to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
  • Reliable, safety-focused, and organized.

Employment Details:

  • Wage Information: $38.00 - $42.00 per hour, based on experience and licensing.
  • Hours of Work: 44 hours per week, with overtime as required.
