ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a passionate and thoughtful Student Engagement Manager to join our lean, driven and dynamic team and champion the next phase of our student engagement program and strategy. In this role, you will lead the growth and execution of our overall student engagement strategy, including reviewing, refining and reporting on the student engagement strategy (~15% of your time), managing and developing of our annual Internship Program and Impact Challenge (~70% of your time), developing new programs (~15% of your time).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
- Lead, evaluate, and refine the overall student engagement strategy in collaboration with the President, including:
- Review of Good & Well's student engagement strategy, plan, and budget
- Development, review, and refinement of strategies, plans, and budgets for the Internship Program, Impact Challenge, experiential learning course, alumni engagement, potential fellowship program and/or other new initiatives
- Evaluation of and reporting on implementation of the Good & Well strategy
Programs
- Lead the execution of the Internship Program, including:
- Recruitment of 20-25 interns across schools and industries in collaboration with portfolio companies
- Organization and co-facilitation of the professional and personal development sessions, including a three-day outdoor retreat
- Co-management with portfolio companies of the 20-25 interns
- All other actions required to facilitate the success of the Internship Program
- Lead the execution of the Impact Challenge, including:
- Recruitment of 50-100 participants
- Development of engaging competition materials
- Recruitment of mentors, judges and panelists
- Planning event logistics (i.e., venue, catering, schedule, etc.)
- Facilitation of the event
- All other actions required to facilitate the success of the Impact Challenge
- Collaborate with our university partners to design, coordinate and implement a pilot experiential learning course for students
- Develop and manage an impactful alumni engagement program to build stronger community and support student engagement initiatives
- Review and lead the exploration (and development and execution as required) of the expansion of existing student programs and potential new initiatives, such as a fellowship program
Other
- Develop and implement the student communications strategy and plan (including communications via the website, LinkedIn account, email newsletter, and university/college job boards)
- Maintain and build collaborative relationships with partners to support the student programs (including funding, recruitment, and portfolio company partners)
- Recruit Good & Well interns as needed
- Manage Student Engagement Interns/Coordinators as needed
- Collaborate with Good & Well's Community Coordinator on program administration
- Other projects/tasks as needed in support of Good & Well's strategy and portfolio

QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate must have:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 3+ years of work experience OR 1+ year of work experience and graduate school experience
- 3+ years of experience designing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating initiatives ideally with a focus on youth, student engagement, and/or community building
- Defining strategy, plans, and budgets
- Leading implementation
- Evaluating impact and refining initiatives
- Proven project management and organizational skills
- Experience developing partnerships to support your work (financial, operational, content, etc.)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Genuine passion for social impact, sustainability, and community engagement
- Legally allowed to work in Canada according to the relevant legislation and regulations
- Willingness and ability to pass a security and criminal background check
Good-to-haves:
- Experience with human resources management
- Experience with recruitment and familiarity with equitable recruitment strategies
- Experience with communications strategy and planning, and social media
- Experience building alumni engagement programs
- Experience working with social enterprises or with entrepreneurs
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Compensation: $70-90k with bonus (flexible based on experience)
- Reporting to: President, Good & Well
- Location: 317 Adelaide St. W. Toronto ON (hybrid with significant time in office)
