Parking Valet (Full-time/ Permanent)

Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a dedicated, professional, and reliable full-time Valet to work across Cobequid Community Health Centre (CCHC) and the QEII hospital (SSP) locations in Halifax.

This unique hybrid role includes both parking enforcement and support at CCHC in the morning, and cleaning and valet operations at SSP in the afternoon. The shift is continuous but divided between the two sites, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Shift: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (split between two locations)
  • Reliable transportation is required to move between sites (CCHC in Sackville to SSP in Halifax)

Note: Schedule can change based on the operations need. Flexible availability required.

Key Responsibilities:

Morning – CCHC (7:00 AM – 10:00 AM):

  • Direct staff to proper parking areas
  • Monitor and enforce accessible parking
  • Patrol main entry zones and issue warnings/tickets
  • Assist patients and staff with parking-related inquiries

Afternoon – SSP (10:30 AM – 4:00 PM):

Cleaning Duties (Mon & Fri):

  • Clean lobbies, signs, stairwells, and parking decks
  • Monthly tasks like pressure washing and interior glass cleaning

Valet Duties (Tue–Thu):

  • Greet guests and assist with parking at VG/HI and Summer Street Parkade
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and safely park/retrieve cars
  • Maintain key security and accurate records
  • Provide courteous, professional guest service

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • High level of interpersonal skills, including poise and diplomacy
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Good communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to customer service
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Able to work outside in all weather (free uniform provided)
  • A valid Canadian drivers license and clean driving abstract
  • A minimum of three years driving experience
  • Able to operate a vehicle in confined spaces without damage
  • Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles is an asset
  • Previous valet, cleaning, or enforcement experience is an asset
