Salary: $131,500 - $164,388

Lead a People-First Culture Where Purpose Meets Possibility!

Our valued client, a large, multi-provincial non-profit organization, is seeking a visionary Vice President of People & Culture (P&C) to shape the future of its people strategy. This purpose-driven executive-level role offers an opportunity to lead a high-performing team that spans all P&C functional areas. The VP will drive alignment between people, systems, operational realities, and long-term service goalswhile also advising on workforce risk and organizational health.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Strategic Leadership & Culture:

  • Lead the development and execution of a multi-year People & Culture strategy that aligns with the organizations mission, values, and strategic priorities, while integrating workforce planning, inclusive leadership practices, and operational realities
  • Champion a values-aligned, psychologically safe, and inclusive workplace culture, rooted in trauma-informed, equity-centered, and reconciliation-focused approaches that support high performance across all teams and regions
  • Empower and develop leaders at all levels, fostering relational leadership, cultural humility, and shared accountability for modeling organizational values and driving cultural transformation
  • Provide strategic counsel to the CAO, CEO and Board Committees on workforce trends, culture health, and people strategy; Participate and lead relevant P&C board related committees
  • Oversee departmental budgeting, workforce financial modeling, and cost-effective compensation strategies
  • Lead the organizational risk management function, providing strategic direction and guiding the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise risk strategies that support organizational resilience

Team Oversight & Systems Leadership:

  • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Oversee the design and implementation of inclusive, efficient, and values-based recruitment and onboarding strategies
  • Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB): Champion the integration of DEIB principles into all people practices, leadership development, policies, and workplace culture
  • Organizational Planning & Design: Lead strategic workforce planning to ensure staffing structures align with organizational priorities and service delivery needs
  • Employee & Labour Relations: Provide guidance and oversight for respectful, constructive labour and employee relations that align with organizational values and legal requirements
  • Total Rewards & Compensation: Lead the development of equitable and sustainable compensation strategies, including salary structures, rewards, and benefits design
  • Learning, Development, & Leadership Training: Develop and oversee a holistic learning strategy that supports continuous growth, professional development, and leadership capacity at all levels
  • Health, Safety, & Wellness: Ensure a proactive and integrated approach to occupational health and safety, psychological well-being, and emergency preparedness
  • Internal Communications & Employee Recognition: Oversee communication strategies that foster transparency, connection, and shared purpose between leadership and staff
  • HRIS, Data & Analytics: Ensure the human resources information system (HRIS) supports efficient workflows, data accuracy, and accessibility

THE EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES YOU WILL BRING:

You are a strategic, self-aware, and values-aligned leader with a proven ability to lead transformational change. Youre motivated by impact, inspired by people, and driven to create systems that foster belonging and performance. Specifically, you bring:

  • 8 - 10 years of senior leadership experience overseeing a broad range of People & Culture functional areas
  • Bachelors or masters degree in Human Resources, Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, or a related field; CPHR designation or equivalent is considered an asset
  • To reduce barriers, a combination of transferable skills, knowledge, lived experience, and comparable qualifications will be considered
  • Demonstrated success leading culture transformation and people strategies that align with organizational values, strategic priorities, and operational realities
  • Proven ability to advise executive teams and Boards on people-related risks, workforce planning, and organizational health
  • In-depth understanding of both strategic planning and day-to-day HR operations, with the ability to translate vision into effective people systems and practices
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation, labour relations frameworks, and HR compliance requirements across multiple regions
  • Advanced communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, including emotional intelligence, relationship-building, and the ability to manage conflict with diplomacy and integrity
  • Personally resilient, with the capacity to demonstrate a growth mindset and commitment to continuous leadership development
