The Manager, Signature Events will facilitate the work of a team of event professionals and support committees of volunteers that will execute Sinai Health Foundation's signature events that include large scale peer to peer fundraising events, virtual events, and in-person events.

The Manager, Signature Events will support a strong signature events portfolio that reaches different audiences and ensure diversity and growth in human and financial capital. They will manage the signature events logistics team and provide vendor oversight.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage a large and diverse portfolio of signature events

  • Inspire, motivate and manage performance of the signature events team

  • Develop event strategies that meet Sinai Health Foundation's strategic goals and support Sinai Health's highest priorities

  • Support and implement new signature event acquisition process and strategy

  • Set goals and measure success of signature event portfolio relative to key performance indicators: event revenue targets are met, attendance targets are met, new audiences are introduced to the foundation, and attendees are converted to donors

  • Develop creative revenue streams to achieve each event's fundraising goal

  • Develop event sponsorship opportunities and deliverables that are unique and appealing to potential corporate partners

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to create event branding and effective cause messaging for appealing donor presentations and participant acquisition

  • Collaborate with the Philanthropy team to support the process of converting event attendees to donors

  • Prospecting, management and stewardship of event chairs and event committees

  • Attend all volunteer committee and stakeholder meetings as required

  • Attend all signature events and act as the Foundation representative, interacting with event chair, committee, and attendees

  • Develop and oversee critical paths, ticket sales, day of event logistics, sponsor deliverables, donor recognition and acknowledgement

  • Develop and manage the Events budget and ensure event revenue goals are met and that event cost/revenue ratio is on track; create, implement and oversee a model of event support and programming that meets a high standard of cost efficiency

  • Escalate sensitive and or challenging situations as appropriate

  • Keep abreast of current trends in the events space and among our peers

Requirements:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of fundraising event and team management preferably within a large dynamic not-for-profit environment

  • Successful completion of a University or College Degree in a related field from an accredited educational institution. Proven equivalent and recent related education, training and experience may be considered

  • Strong understanding of the fundraising world, and an excellent track record of managing, executing and enhancing fundraising events

  • Familiarity with Canada Revenue Agency's guidelines around tax receipting, including gifts-in-kind, sponsors, ticket sales and donations

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Raiser's Edge

  • Superior project management skills?and high attention to detail

  • Ability to handle matters of a sensitive and confidential nature with extraordinary problem-solving skills; an innovative, creative-thinking person with demonstrated financial acumen

  • Diplomatic in managing expectations of a wide range of stakeholders

  • Self-starter with a bias for action; solutions oriented; the ability to plan, organize and prioritize work while handling multiple tasks and interruptions

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently with minimal supervision

  • Evening and weekend work is required

This role has been evaluated with a salary range of $98,772 to $123,464. The hiring range is $98,772 to $107,000.

Sinai Health Foundation is a hybrid workplace, located in downtown Toronto. Currently, all employees are in-office on Tuesdays for the Foundation's “anchor day”, as well as approximately 24 additional in-person corporate meetings, events or activities annually. Additional in-person requirements vary by team and job function. Our Workplace Flexibility policy is reviewed on a bi-annual basis to ensure the current state of hybrid work is meeting our organizational needs.
