Summary
The Automotive Back Parts Window Associate works in a fast-paced auto service environment and supports Automotive Licensed Technicians in locating and providing the right parts for auto repairs in the Automotive Service Centre. This role involves the use of a computerized automotive parts and service look-up systems, which includes estimates for repair orders, ordering, controlling and maintaining inventory accuracy.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Customer Service
· Responds to and handles internal and external customer inquiries, requests and concerns in a timely manner.
· Ensures that the Automotive Service Center team maximizes the customer experience by sourcing, stocking and providing timely and correct vehicle components as requisitioned by the customers and/or Licensed Automotive Technicians.
Operations
· Serves Licensed Automotive Technicians and processes their requests for parts and tires.
· Liaises with Automotive Service Centre staff to inform immediately of all received parts and tire orders.
· Sources and orders automotive parts, shop supplies and products through authorized suppliers.
· Follows established procedures regarding the ordering and sale of parts and tires for the Automotive Service Centre.
· Verifies correct vehicle information and parts and tires applications for look-up and ordering.
· Quotes parts and tire pricing and availability.
· Locates products in the warehouse.
· Maintains and controls accuracy of inventory, including shop specialty tools.
· Verifies accuracy of all outside orders by matching product descriptions to product numbers.
· Walks their assigned sections to understand what needs to be accomplished on a daily basis.
· Restocks parts and tire areas with stock received.
· Tests and fills batteries. Tests starters and alternators. Operates the battery filling station as per training received.
· Liaises with Automotive Service Centre staff to ensure estimates are accurate and professionally formatted.
· Maintains housekeeping standards of work stations and inventory area and in service reception/work area.
· Stocks shelves in storage display areas.
· Secures, warehouse area, parts and tire inventory from unauthorized persons.
· Processes returns, warranties and castings as required.
· Records lost sales.
· Reports stolen and damaged goods to Management.
· Assists in back up for telephone calls.
· Participates in meetings and all training as required and listens to feedback to improve their own abilities.
· Complies with company, store, department and Automotive Service Centre policies.
· Abides by all health and safety programs and regulations. Reports any observed or potential hazards immediately.
· Uses professional language and maintains a professional appearance (e.g., uniform, hygiene, grooming and name tag) when interacting with others.
· Completes other tasks, as required.
Requirements
· Demonstrated automotive subject matter knowledge and interest.
· Basic math and typing skills.
· Good working knowledge of automotive parts lookup system.
· Ability to work under minimal supervision with computerized systems.
· Experience in a similar role, in a Canadian Tire store or Auto Service Centre, is considered an asset.
· Certified in transportation of dangerous goods training would be an asset.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
In compliance with the store's Health and Safety Policies and Procedures:
· Standing/walking for 8 hours.
· Lifting and/or carrying of merchandise items, as required, on a regular, frequent and unassisted basis. Merchandise items may vary in weight from “light” to “heavy”.
· Lifting and turning repeatedly throughout the shift.
· Lifting above the shoulder, from floor to shoulder and floor to waist.
· Going up and down a ladder while carrying merchandise.
· Walking and carrying things at the same time and pushing/pulling, as required.
· Twisting, turning, reaching and working above shoulder level.
