PLEA Community Services is currently seeking a Full-Time HR Administrator (Recruitment) for our HR team located in Vancouver, BC. The proposed start date for this position is as soon as possible. This position is excluded from BCGEU membership.

The HR Administrator (Recruitment) supports the agency's recruitment efforts by posting and marketing job opportunities, sourcing and background screening candidates, and building a talented candidate pool through their oversight of the student program. They are responsible for maintaining the agency's Applicant Tracking System (ATS), supporting the onboarding of new hires, and completing HR-related projects as assigned. They work in partnership with the Recruitment Specialist and provide support to the other members of the HR team in performing the daily operations of the HR department.

Hours of Work: The usual hours of work in this position are Monday to Friday from 8:30AM to 4:30PM, based on 37.5 working hours per week. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required to meet departmental needs.

Closing date for Internal Applications: Monday, July 7, 2025, at 4:30PM. If the position is not filled internally, it will remain open until filled.

Education/Experience Requirement

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • One (1) year of recent, relevant experience.

What You Will Do:

Recruitment

  • Prepare and post job vacancies. Provide subject matter expertise to hiring managers on the job posting process and requirements. Participate in recruiting events and assist the department in the completion of its recruitment activities.
  • Conduct the background screening process for shortlisted candidates.
  • Support the HR team in the coordination of preboarding and onboarding activities. Facilitate HR orientation sessions as required.
  • Find, present, and engage in external opportunities to promote PLEA to prospective candidates and students. Facilitate external recruitment efforts, including job fairs and community events.
  • Develop and implement creative recruitment marketing campaigns to increase talent brand awareness and candidate engagement.
  • Administer the agency's student programs. Act as the first point of contact for students seeking placements at PLEA. Build connections with educational institutions and students to create a talented candidate pool for the agency.

HR Projects

  • Complete projects and initiatives within the department's strategic plan. Design and prepare materials for the department's activities, including written and digital content.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the team to execute the daily operations of the HR department.
  • Implement and maintain HR policies and procedures.

Data and Documentation

  • Ensure that HR filing systems, records, and drives are current, accurate, organized and in compliance. Maintain the agency's ATS.
  • Develop systems to track HR metrics. Collect HR data and prepare regular and on-demand reports.

Administrative Support

  • Provide backfill coverage for the HR Administrator (Personnel Files) as needed.
  • Complete a variety of administrative support tasks for the CHRO as necessary.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department and provide backfill coverage for other members of the team.
  • Adhere to all internal and external requirements (e.g., Collective Agreement, accrediting bodies, funding agreements, licensing conditions and applicable legislation and regulations).
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Protect and uphold confidentiality.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, database systems, talent-search platforms, applicant tracking systems and web-based conferencing tools.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Clearance.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 or 7N B.C. Driver's License and suitable driver's abstract/claims history.
  • Must have access to a personal vehicle for work-related travel. This position requires travel in the Lower Mainland and the Fraser Valley.
  • Documentation that the applicant is legally authorized to work on an ongoing basis in Canada.
