Our client is based in the Okanagan area of BC and are in the construction sector. This role oversees the Health and Safety and Environmental for multiple job sites in the region.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the company health and safety program by developing policies, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Champion training initiatives to promote a strong safety culture and reduce risk.
- Oversee a team of safety professionals, support inspections, and lead incident investigations.
- Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to implement safety measures and maintain COR status.
- Analyze incident data, maximize WorkSafe BC rebates, and stay current with industry best practices.
- Coordinate with IT for safety reporting tools and prepare quarterly safety reports.
- Other as required.
- 8-10+ years in a safety leadership position
- Bachelor's degree/college diploma in occupational health and safety, or related
- Experience in residential and/or mixed-rise concrete construction required
- CRSP designation, or working towards - preferred
- Extensive knowledge of current industry safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety
and Health Administration
