What is the Role?

As an Operations Supervisor for the 12 noon to 9 PM closing shift, you'll be the driving force on the shop floor, leading your team through daily production, coordinating with other units, and ensuring everything runs smoothly across the distribution centre. You'll tackle challenges head-on, keep safety and quality top of mind, and always look for ways to boost productivity. This is a hands-on leadership role where your energy, problem-solving skills, and commitment to continuous improvement will make a real difference every day.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate and monitor activities to determine labour requirements and allocate associates effectively
• Monitor performance, identify system issues, and resolve operational problems quickly
• Communicate and support associates in achieving unit goals and targets
• Conduct pre-shift meetings and involve associates in problem-solving and performance initiatives
• Build a high-performance team culture with associates and peers
• Set and measure operational targets for safety, quality, and productivity
• Plan, guide, and evaluate actions to achieve the best results
• Manage labour allocations and control labour costs, including overtime
• Provide input into hiring new associates
• Liaise with other departments, head office, and branch locations
• Maintain strong customer service and vendor relationships
• Report on operational and payroll activities, including commentary
• Conduct and participate in special projects as needed

What You Bring

• A proactive, hands-on approach: You're a solution-oriented leader who inspires your team, tackles challenges head-on, and drives positive results on the shop floor.
• Strong people and problem-solving skills: You excel at motivating others, communicating clearly, and using your tech-savvy mindset to keep operations running smoothly.
• 3–5 years of related experience in a large distribution centre environment
• 2–3 years of supervisory experience within a unionized facility
• Post-secondary, two-year community college diploma in Distribution/Logistics Management (an asset)
