We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our Procurement team!
As the Procurement Specialist, you will beresponsible for managing multiple suppliers through establishing relations, quoting, negotiations, issue resolution and evaluating supplier performance. You will work closely with the Procurement and Project teams to understand and support the specialized procurement requirements of services, parts and materials, while adhering to project timelines, technical, and regulatory requirements. The procurement specialist will take lead on establishing data modelling, analysis, and reporting on supplier and Procurement KPIs, leading to data-driven decisions to successfully meet Department business objectives for efficient acquisition of goods and services.

Responsibilities:
- Procurement and Subcontract Administration: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of procurement and subcontracting activities including amendments, correspondence, request for information, request for quote and purchase order issuance. Work with team members to provide coverage during peak periods of purchasing multiple types of commodities.
- Internal Customer interface: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and requirements.
- Performance Monitoring: Analyze procurement data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Monitor supplier performance, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
- Reporting: Prepare reports and dashboards on subcontracting activities, procurements, performance metrics, risk assessments for management. Develop and implement procurement analytics to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.
- Support procurement team in executing day to day duties as required.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in procurement and data analytics.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Commerce, or relevant career experience.
- Minimum five (5) years working in supply chain, specificallysourcing and managing subcontract services, suppliers, and materials.
- Demonstrate the ability to oversee multiple, complex projects and contracts.
- Advanced financial, procurement, and commercial business acumen.
- Proven successful negotiation and contract management skills.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.
- Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) or Canadian Institute of Traffic Transportation (CCLP), preferred.
- Valid NS drivers license and passport is required.
