Position: Accountant, Sr. (Fixed Term)
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
*Pay Range: $80,000 - $85,000 CAD annually
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting, the Sr. Accountant is responsible for posting daily bank transactions, processing payments, and updating payments and collections. They will be maintaining general leger accounts, and performing month-end and year-end procedures, and providing external support as needed.
MAIN DUTIES:
The Sr. Accountant ensures timely and accurate posting of daily bank transactions, processes vendor/contractor payments and maintains relevant supporting documents, and updates the daily cashflow file with previous day activity (actual payments and collections). They are also responsible for the following:
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all transactions
- Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Support external auditors during annual audits by providing documentation
WHAT YOU BRING:
The ideal candidate will have a background in Accounting, Finance, or related field, and have their CPA certification or equivalent. They will bring prior progressive accounting experience and have a strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements. They will bring hands-on experience with accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, etc.), proficiency in MS Dynamics 365 preferred, and must be proficient in Excel including lookups and pivot tables. Additional desired skills include:
