We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities:- Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex electrical and control systems for new projects and existing system upgrades.
- Ensure all electrical designs and installations comply with the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and other relevant North American electrical codes and standards (e.g., NFPA 70/NEC).
- Develop comprehensive power distribution system designs, including low and medium-voltage applications, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and safety.
- Conduct thorough technical risk assessments for electrical and control systems, identifying potential hazards and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (mechanical, software, project management) to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
- Oversee the selection, specification, and procurement of electrical components and equipment.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
- Participate in all phases of projects, from conceptual design through commissioning and ongoing support.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and project reports.
- Proficiency in the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and associated Canadian standards.
- Expert-level proficiency in power distribution systems design, including single-line diagrams, panelboard schedules, and conduit/cable sizing.
- Expert in system-level design for electrical and control systems, including PLC-based control, motor control, and sensor integration.
- Strong working knowledge of technical risk assessment methodologies and tools.
- Demonstrated experience with electrical safety standards and best practices.
- Solid understanding of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) principles and design considerations.
- Proficiency with electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, ETAP).
- Experience with control panel design and layout.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of North American electrical codes and standards (e.g., NFPA 70/National Electrical Code, UL standards).
- Experience with medium voltage (MV) design and installation.
- Functional Safety Certification (e.g., TUV FSE, CFSE).
- Prior experience in the amusement rides industry or other highly regulated industries (e.g., automotive, aerospace, heavy machinery).
- Experience with industrial network protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP).
- P.Eng designation in Canada or eligibility for P.Eng.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering roles, with a focus on design and system integration.
