MacDonald Search Group has been asked by our safety products and solutions client to find a first class Business Development Manager to join their team in Ottawa. The primary responsibility of this role will be to drive profitable growth by acquiring new business partnerships, expanding market share, and optimizing revenue within an assigned geographic area.
Some of what you will do in this role includes:
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through strategic prospecting and networking.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to both prospective and existing clients.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular touchpoints, meetings, and product knowledge sessions.
- Collaborate with internal departments (account managers, consultants, leadership) to identify growth opportunities and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Deliver the company's value proposition effectively to maximize engagement and retention.
- Ensure timely, accurate reporting on pipeline activity and performance metrics.
- Handle customer concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.
- Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience in a related field.
- Proven experience in B2B sales or business development, preferably in industrial, retail, or service-driven sectors.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to act on data-driven insights.
- Technological proficiency and comfort using CRM and sales reporting tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territory; valid driver's license required.
