Position Overview

The Social Media Coordinator is a creative and results-driven individual responsible for developing, implementing, and managing our social media strategy across all relevant platforms. This role will focus on building brand awareness, fostering community engagement, driving website traffic, and supporting overall marketing and communication objectives through compelling and timely social content. The ideal candidate is passionate about social media trends, an excellent communicator, and possesses a strong understanding of how to leverage social channels to achieve business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy & Planning

  • Assist in the development and execution of a comprehensive social media content calendar aligning with marketing campaigns, organizational events, and relevant trends.
  • Contribute to the overall social media strategy, identifying target audiences, preferred platforms, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest social media best practices, trends, platform updates, and algorithm changes.
  • Research and identify new opportunities for social media engagement and growth.

Content Creation & Curation

  • Create, curate, and manage engaging and high-quality content (text, image, video, GIF, stories, reels, etc.) tailored to each platform's best practices (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest).
  • Write compelling and concise captions, headlines, and calls-to-action.
  • Source, edit, and optimize visual assets (photos and videos) for social media use, ensuring brand consistency.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and design teams to develop visually appealing and on-brand graphics and videos.

Community Management & Engagement

  • Actively monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions across all social media channels in a timely and professional manner.
  • Foster a positive and engaging online community, encouraging user-generated content and brand advocacy.
  • Identify and engage with relevant influencers, partners, and community groups.
  • Manage online reviews and reputation management on social platforms.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Track, analyze, and report on key social media performance metrics (e.g., reach, engagement, impressions, website clicks, follower growth) using native platform analytics and third-party tools.
  • Provide regular insights and recommendations to optimize social media performance and inform future strategies.
  • Monitor competitor social media activity and industry benchmarks.

Campaign Support

  • Support the planning and execution of paid social media campaigns, including ad copy and creative coordination (if applicable).
  • Assist in the promotion of company events, products, services, and initiatives through social media.
  • Help coordinate social media aspects of partnerships and collaborations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of proven professional experience managing social media for a brand or organization.
  • Demonstrated expertise across major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube).
  • Strong portfolio of social media content and campaigns.
  • Excellent written communication skills with a keen eye for detail, grammar, and tone.
  • Proficiency in creating visually appealing content using tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), or similar.
  • Experience with social media management and scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Buffer, Later).
  • Familiarity with social media analytics tools and the ability to interpret data to drive insights.
  • Basic understanding of social media advertising principles is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Creative thinker with a finger on the pulse of internet culture and emerging trends.
