Location: Ottawa, ON | Full-Time | $34–$40/hr

Our tree division, VS Tree, is trusted by government, healthcare, residential, and commercial clients for expert arboricultural services—including high-risk removals, tree preservation.

About the Role:

We're looking for a Lead Climber / Crew Leader who will:

• Manage aerial tree work and removals safely and efficiently

• Mentor junior crew members and support a culture of learning and teamwork

• Maintain a high standard of safety and site cleanliness

• Operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, mini skid steers, etc.

• Perform pre-work risk assessments and tailgate meetings using a digital tablet

Requirements:

• ISA Certified Arborist (mandatory)

• 3–5+ years of production climbing experience

• Skilled in all aspects of tree maintenance, removals, rigging, and aerial operations

• Strong leadership, communication, and time management skills

• Valid G license with clean driver's abstract

• CPR / First Aid certified

• Diploma in Arboriculture or similar credential

• Committed to high standards and continuous improvement

• Are experienced with high-risk tree removals near utilities or urban structures

• Have experience mentoring apprentices or junior climbers

• Hold a valid AR license with clean driver's abstract
