Job Title: Crew Bus Driver

Skeena Gold + Silver is currently seeking reliable and safety-conscious Crew Bus Drivers to support our Eskay Creek Project operations. The successful candidates will be responsible for transporting employees safely between the CMH (Campbell-Hyatt) location and the site using a 24-passenger bus. Drivers will work split shifts, operating the morning and evening route.

In addition to transportation duties, Bus Drivers will also support general labouring tasks as needed throughout the day. These may include, but are not limited to, cleaning and maintaining vehicles, assisting other departments, and performing basic yard or camp maintenance.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Safe Transportation

  • Operate a 24-passenger bus along the designated CMH-to-site route with a strong commitment to safety.
  • Ensure timely and secure transport of personnel between locations, maintaining awareness of road and weather conditions.

Compliance & Safety

  • Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Follow all site-specific protocols and transportation guidelines.

Vehicle Inspections & Maintenance

  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure operational safety and compliance.
  • Perform routine checks on fluid levels, tires, brakes, and lights.

Cleanliness & Upkeep

  • Maintain the cleanliness of both the interior and exterior of the bus.
  • Ensure the vehicle is presentable and comfortable for passengers at all times.

Incident Reporting

  • Promptly report any mechanical issues, damage, safety concerns, or incidents to the Site Services Supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to inspections, incidents, and maintenance.

Professional Conduct

  • Interact respectfully and courteously with all site personnel and passengers.
  • Represent Skeena Gold + Silver in a professional manner, promoting a positive and safe work environment.

Additional Duties

  • Support general labouring tasks as required, including but not limited to assisting other departments during downtime or between transportation runs.
  • Tasks may include cleaning and tidying buses, trucks, and other equipment, as well as basic yard or camp maintenance.

The Ideal Candidate

Education / Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid Class 1, 2, or 4 BC Driver's License.

Experience / Skills

  • Clean driver's abstract and demonstrated safe driving record.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience preferred.
  • Ability to work a split shift schedule.
  • Experience operating in remote or industrial environments is an asset.
  • Physically fit and capable of working in a rugged, mountainous environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Location & Conditions

This is a site-based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. This position involves working at a remote mine site on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation.

The Eskay Creek Revitalization Project is located within the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities to the Eskay Creek Site facilities. For those applicants located elsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace or Smithers airports, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Eskay Creek Camp facilities. Travel time and expenses are subject to Skeena's Travel Policy.

There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons including working outdoors in snow, mud, ice, and water conditions, walking to and from different locations on uneven ground, prolonged periods of standing and physically handling/lifting/moving heavy objects.

Compensation

The expected hourly range for this position is CAD $30-$35p/h, in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Salary ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.
