Job Description

We're looking for a motivated, engaging Agile Project Manager with a passion for sports and technology to join our MLSE Digital Labs team. Position Type: Freelance 12-Month Contract

  • Lead project execution and delivery of our fan-facing mobile apps.
  • Lead and coordinate multiple mobile app development streams, with responsibilities spanning both frontend user experience and backend system integration.
  • Author comprehensive user stories covering both frontend user interactions and backend functionality to ensure end-to-end feature delivery, with support from the Product Manager and Development team.
  • Lead Delivery Teams in creating program goals and tracking performance metrics.
  • Own and maintain clear communication with internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate conversations to ensure cross-functional dependencies are planned, identifying gaps, and mitigating or raising risks.
  • Create and maintain a budget and operating plan for the program.
  • Supervise and communicate development timelines, status, and budgets to upper management.
  • Implement and facilitate retrospectives for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure timely resolution of impediments slowing development.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, experimentation, and improvement.
  • Lead with empathy, and create a safe space for team members to create their best work.
Qualifications

  • 1 - 2 years in a Project Management role (i.e. Scrum Master, Project Manager, Program Manager, or Delivery Manager), preferably running agile/scrum for dedicated product teams.
  • Practical experience with agile methodologies but believes in "individuals and interactions over processes and tools."
  • Exposure to Agile software tools such as Jira or Linear is an asset.
  • Outstanding communication skills (interpersonal, verbal, presentation, written, email).
  • Solid track record to influence & gain agreement at multiple levels, across divisions, functions, and cultures.
  • Comfort working with senior-level management and virtual teams.
  • Ability to prioritize, lead, and deliver on multiple initiatives simultaneously; highly motivated to work against ambitious schedules.
  • Strong bias toward action, flexible, inventive, and able to operate optimally within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • You are the glue of a happy, high-performing team.
  • Positive demeanor, teammate, self-starter; takes initiative, ability to work independently.
