The Opportunity:
BluMetric is looking for a dynamic full time Mechanical Designer (2D and 3D CAD) to join our multi discipline WaterTech design team. The ideal candidate will be developing systems in the expanding industry of water and wastewater treatment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in the mechanical design of water treatment systems.
- Assist in the design of plumbing layouts, component selection/sourcing, and pump sizing.
- Create detailed engineering drawings in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Create schematics in AutoCAD.
- Assist in site work, occasional travel to job sites as required
- Work in a shop environment to assist with assembly and fabrication of designed systems
Key Qualifications, Education, and Skills:
- Mechanical Engineering Technologist with a minimum 1-year experience as a designer/draftsperson.
- Experience with 3D modelling and drawings in SolidWorks, or similar 3D CAD system.
- Experience with 2D modelling and drawings in AutoCAD, or similar 2D CAD system.
- Experience in any of the following areas is considered an asset: plumbing design and P&IDs, pump selection and sizing, welding design and welding fabrication drawings.
- Knowledge and experience with MS Office.
- Highly effective communication skillsets - reading, writing, and verbal.
- Travel and periods away from your normal place of work may be required.
- Valid drivers license.
- Currently holds or is eligible to obtain a minimum Reliability Status security clearance.
