Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Lead/Supervisor to oversee daily operations in our food and beverage production facility. The ideal candidate will ensure production targets are met while upholding the highest standards of food safety, quality, and team collaboration. This role reports directly to the Production Manager and requires strong leadership, mechanical aptitude, and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Teamwork
- Supervise and lead the production team to ensure smooth daily operations and adherence to production schedules.
- Monitor team performance and ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with the Production Manager to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Train and onboard new team members on production processes, equipment use, and safety protocols.
Compliance & Technical Excellence
- Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene standards on the production floor.
- Conduct regular quality assurance and control (QA/QC) checks during production.
- Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Use basic math skills for inventory tracking and production reporting.
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Operational Duties
- Handle raw materials and ingredients with care and precision.
- Accurately measure liquids and weigh ingredients for batching.
- Execute product batching, review recipes, perform pasteurization, and conduct cleaning-in-place (CIP) procedures.
- Assist with sampling, label verification, and batch adjustments.
- Maintain accurate records of production, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
- Support microbiological testing and report any deviations to the Food Safety Manager.
- Operate forklifts for material handling as needed.
- Troubleshoot and address mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
Work Environment & Requirements
- Fast-paced beverage production facility with frequent standing, walking, lifting, and sitting.
- Ability to distinguish between different colors and flavors.
- Flexibility to work various shifts based on production needs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Production Lead/Supervisor in a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
- Hands-on experience with food batching, pasteurization, ingredient handling, and CIP (highly preferred).
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
- Strong sensory skills and experience with food tasting.
- Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, QA/QC, and other food safety standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and production management software.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one is a plus.
- Eagerness to learn and a humble, team-oriented attitude.
