HVAC Installer with Service Experience – Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker

Location: Fort McMurray, AB
Salary: Starting at $52.50 per hour (up to $62.55/hr depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Schedule: 14 days on / 14 days off | 10 – 12 hour shifts
LOA: $145 paid for days worked
Flight Allowance: $500 per month

Position Overview

We are seeking a Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker with strong HVAC installation and service experience. The successful candidate will work on a wide range of commercial and industrial projects, providing both new equipment installation and ongoing service/maintenance support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, service, and maintain HVAC systems including rooftop units, split systems, furnaces, boilers, air handling units, and ductwork
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues
  • Perform preventative maintenance, calibrations, inspections, and balancing
  • Complete maintenance logs, service reports, and client documentation
  • Support estimating, sales, and material take-offs for new scopes of work
  • Mentor apprentices and lead by example on job sites
  • Maintain professional client and coworker relationships
  • Adhere to all safety policies and participate in daily safety meetings

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker certification
  • Apprenticeship or JM Certification in Refrigeration preferred
  • Class B or A Gas Fitter certification considered a strong asset
  • 3+ years experience in HVAC installation and service (commercial/industrial)
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with clean abstract
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written) and reporting abilities
  • Able to prioritize and adapt to shifting work priorities
  • Knowledge of applicable codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices
  • Comfortable with basic computer programs (Outlook, Word, Excel)
