Connected Services Systems Engineer – Windsor, Ontario

We are seeking a Connected Services Systems Engineer (Intermediate Level) The candidate must reside in the Windsor area.

As a member of the Product Definition Group, you'll be instrumental in shaping the future of connected vehicle technologies, including those related to electric vehicles (EVs) and autonomous driving features. This is a dynamic and innovative environment where your systems thinking, technical acumen, and collaboration skills will help deliver cutting-edge connected features that enhance the driver and passenger experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the feasibility and impact of new features and changes to existing ones
  • Define scalable and flexible API and data requirements for new services
  • Provide connectivity requirements for next-generation vehicle ECUs and architectures
  • Serve as Product Owner for key connected services enablers
  • Identify and define design requirements with a focus on future adaptability
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather and develop user stories and system requirements
  • Participate in concept workshops to support feature definition
  • Assess off-the-shelf solutions to ensure alignment with business needs
  • Author key technical documentation, including requirements specifications and statements of work
  • Lead issue resolution for in-operation systems

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in architecture, software, or systems engineering
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle
  • Proven experience working cross-functionally with engineering, business, and design teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical discussions
  • A proactive mindset and keen interest in emerging connected vehicle technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant technical field
  • Experience with service-oriented architectures
  • Background in electric vehicles (EVs) or autonomous technologies
  • Software development experience in C++, Java, or Python
  • Knowledge of IoT, edge computing, and data streaming technologies
  • Familiarity with embedded systems software development
  • Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases
  • Working knowledge of Atlassian Jira and Agile practices
  • Ability to create technical diagrams and architectural artifacts (e.g., sequence diagrams)
  • Prior experience writing requirements specifications or statements of work
