Infra Pipe Solutions has over 60 years of experience specializing in the design, manufacture, and custom fabrication of engineered polyethylene systems for water, wastewater, and stormwater management applications. Infra Pipe offers its clients full-service engineering support in the design and manufacture of custom systems to meet their project's specific requirements.

Infra Pipe is currently seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to work out of our Huntsville, Ontario manufacturing location. This role will be responsible for managing the inspection and testing from incoming to dock audit; maintaining the effective functioning of the Quality system; ensuring that processes are robust and functional; championing problem resolution efforts; and implementing continuous improvement methodologies to ensure compliance with jurisdictional, customer, company standards, and company's key performance indicators.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage QA staff including hiring, wage and performance reviews, and corrective actions. Direct work and activities to ensure that they meet established procedures and standards.
  • Maintain the Quality Program directly at the plant level and in cooperation with Senior Management at a company-wide level.
  • Ensure proper training of staff.
  • Set up pro duct test and inspection requirements from incoming to dock audit, for both QA and Production, i.e., inspection setup in IQMS (plant's database) and other means.
  • Facilitation of the Annual Quality Management Review to represent the Plant at the companywide meeting.
  • Lead efforts to renew ISO Certification and maintain other jurisdictional standards as required (CSA, ASTM, Factory Mutual, NSF, etc.). Acting as company liaison with regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct ISO 9001:2015 Internal Audits and facilitate other external audits/visits (Customer, regulatory bodies, etc.). Ensure that all requirements are met.
  • Review and address all internal QA-related incident reports and collaborate with the plant for the other Incident Reports, identify trends, patterns, and corrective/preventative actions.
  • Conduct MRB meetings to control NC products that are on hold.
  • Champion all Customer complaints. Lead the External/Internal Non-Conformance review process in a timely and effective manner, resolving quality/process issues by utilizing disciplined problem-solving techniques and proper product failure analysis.
  • Handle communications and resolutions of raw material Supplier issues.
  • Review applicable Industry Standards and collaborate with Engineering; come up with supporting instructions/procedures as necessary, conduct training and audits, to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate Annual submission of samples for product certifications.
  • Conduct/facilitate Top Defects meetings. Analyze data, apply appropriate problem-solving tools to reduce defects, ensure a closed-loop process, and share lessons learned and best practices with other plants.
  • Manage and maintain gauge and test equipment calibrations/MSA/GRR. Orders new gauges and test equipment needed to maintain the QA Lab's capability.
  • Ensure that process/product validations/verification requirements are communicated and conducted using Statistical techniques. Apply change management and control to minimize or mitigate risks.
  • Prepare/submit Material Test Reports/Certificates and other special reports required by Customers about product compliance to Standards.
  • Prepare necessary Quality reports requested by Management. Provide data analysis of key product/process quality indicators to drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct QA, customer requirements, and continuous improvement training to Operations (Procedures, ISO 9001, BIQC, problem-solving tools, basic statistical, and world-class manufacturing techniques.
  • Provide cost-effective purchasing of supplies and services for the QA Department.
  • Initiate improvement projects for QA Department and participate in companywide continuous improvement projects to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory.
  • Ensure that procedures and requirements are defined, documented as necessary, communicated, and met. Serves as the plants' voice of the customer and gatekeeper for things that impact quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Actively participate in all Health & Safety training and promote a safe work environment.
  • Other duties/tasks as determined by the Plant Manager or Quality Assurance Director.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience.
  • Working knowledge and formal training in ISO 9001:2015 Standards and Internal Auditing.
  • 5+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of experience (manufacturing and Quality), education, and training.
  • Working knowledge of basic Quality Tools, MSA, SPC, Problem-Solving techniques, LEAN, and world-class manufacturing techniques.
  • Working knowledge of various applicable Industry Standards.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills enabling multi-tasking, prioritizing work, and exercising initiative to ensure an efficient Department and provide a high-quality level of service as a support group.
  • Attention to detail, high level of reliability and accuracy, analytical, and data-driven.
  • Able to develop strong and effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent computer skills and sound knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience utilizing a fully integrated ERP system.
