Salary: $70,000 to $90,000 per year

Western Community College invites applications from eligible and experienced candidates for the position of Finance Manager.

The Finance Manager will oversee the colleges financial operations and lead a small finance team, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with financial regulations. The role includes preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, conducting reconciliations, supporting audits, and overseeing key financial processes such as payment collections and student aid.


Responsibilities:

-Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
-Manage financial processes such as payment collections, student aid tasks (e.g., enrollment confirmation), and third-party payment collections.
-Handle commission calculations, refunds, and T2202A forms for students.
-Track financial data from college system to QuickBooks for accurate reporting.
-Manage supplier lists, purchase orders, and invoices.
-Assist in preparing financial statements, budgets, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
-Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and institutional policies.
-Monitor cash flow and perform regular bank reconciliations.
-Provide financial analysis to support decision-making and improve performance.
-Support audits and implement corrective actions as needed.


Qualifications & Skills:
-Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
-CPA designation required
-2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in an educational environment.
-Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
-Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Excel.
-Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
-High attention to detail and accuracy.
-Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
