JOB SUMMARY:This is a flex role with Dry Order Picking being the primary role; additional tasks are Cooler/Freezer Order Picking and Shipping duties. The Order Picker is responsible for manually filling customer orders in the Warehouse, while meeting accuracy and productivity expectations. The Shipper is responsible for helping to prepare and ensure that out-going orders leave the warehouse in an efficient, safe, and professional manner.
Operation of electric pallet movers and other equipment is required for this position; we provide training for this. The job is physically demanding, involving lifting and moving of boxes and bags (30-50lbs).
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:ORDER PICKING:
  • Pick products as indicated on individual pick lists.
  • Place products on pallet such that they are stable, secure and well-balanced.
  • Be familiar with warehouse layout, including directional access and location codes.
  • Meet and exceed expectations related to accuracy and productivity.
  • Adhere to safety standards, both in equipment use and in picking procedures.
  • Learn and follow steps to choose correct pallet for different customers.
  • Follow procedures when product is out-of-stock.
  • Place pallets in correct staging area (for QC to check or for shipping).
  • As directed, wrap pallets and prepare for shipping.
  • Complete paperwork as required (pallet tags, tracking paperwork, etc.).
  • Learn and follow spill clean-up procedures.
SHIPPING:
  • Run the Outbound Shipment report.
  • Contact the freight carrier as needed, by phone or email.
  • Ensure the trailers are inspected for cleanliness and that they meet the temperature requirements before loading product.
  • Cross reference the BOL cases shipped against the faceplate on the shipment to confirm the case totals are the same, have the carrier representative sign off on the BOL.
  • Load the pallets onto the truck following the Loading SOP and Temperature Controlled Goods procedure.
  • Ensure enclosures are properly staged/loaded and the BOL is correctly noted.
  • Record CHEP or PECO pallets on the outbound log.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in the ship-out area.

QUALIFICATIONS + EXPECTATIONS:
  • Minimum 1-year picking case-sized items preferred.
  • Experience using warehouse equipment (i.e. ride-on pallet mover) is preferred.
  • Solid attention to detail and experience palletizing product of verying shapes+ sizes is required.
  • Ability to work independently and stay on track to meet productivity goals.
  • High level of physical ability and endurance, including ability to lift up to 55lbs.
  • Repeated lifting, bending, twisting, standing, reaching.
  • Knowledge of warehouse (distribution) operations and flow.

COMPENSATION + WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • This is a full-time, permanent position; the schedule is Monday through Friday on the day shift.
  • The starting wage is $22.65/hour for Dry Order Picking, $23.95/hour for Cooler/Freezer Order Picking and $23.55/hour for Shipping with a paid meal break.
  • We have scheduled wage increases based on hours worked and an annual company-wide Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) wage review.
