Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and patrol the casino premises to prevent and detect any security breaches or suspicious activities.
- Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, including medical emergencies, disturbances, and criminal activities.
- Assist guests and team members in a professional and courteous manner, providing assistance and information as needed.
- Intervene in disputes or altercations to de-escalate situations and restore order while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Operate and monitor surveillance equipment to ensure the integrity of casino operations.
- Collaborate with other security team members and departments to maintain a cohesive security strategy.
- Enforce casino policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons.
- Complete incident reports and maintain accurate records of security-related activities.
- Enforce age restrictions, gaming regulations, and other legal requirements to ensure compliance with Alberta Gaming, Liquor, and Cannabis (AGLC) standards.
- Assist in executing evacuation procedures during emergencies and ensure all staff and patrons are accounted for.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance your skills and stay up-to-date with security protocols.
- Provide additional security during large-scale or high-profile events, ensuring seamless operations.
- Assist in training new security personnel on policies, equipment usage, and situational protocols.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations.
- Excellent observation and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in operating surveillance and security equipment.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must meet AGLCs requirements
Work Environment
- Walking for long periods of time to cover extended distances throughout the hotel;
- Performing repetitive work;
- Frequently lifts and or carries up to twenty-five (25) pounds;
- Occasionally lifts and or carries up to fifty (50) pounds;
- Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills;
- Ability to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel, bend at the waist and repeatedly stooping;
- Work environment is primarily inside, with the occasional requirement to walk the outside premises of the hotel.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, hot to cold, dust, loud noises, and irate guests;
- Flooring can be concrete, tile, carpet, cement or gravel when walking outside.
