Hospital Parking Attendant (Full-Time/Permanent)

We are currently seeking a motivated, reliable, and outgoing team player to join our Customer Service - Parking Registration team, located in Halifax.

WORK SCHEDULE:

The successful applicant will have a regular schedule between the start timings as early as 6:30 AM, ending as late as 8:15 PM from Monday to Friday. Additional hours or different shifts are occasionally be required as operations dictate. This includes overnight, and weekend shifts, of up to 12 hours in length.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

During your shift, you will be responsible for completing a variety of parking registration tasks providing excellent customer service, greeting everyone entering and exiting the location, issue parking tickets, general cleaning, and patrol duties at one or more of our parking locations. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Assisting guests with the parking registration process.
  • Provide general information and directions.
  • Issue and keep record of parking tickets issued on daily log sheet.
  • Directing patients, visitors, staff and others to appropriate parking areas.
  • Provide assistance to customers and answer parking related enquiries.
  • Take ownership and leadership of the overall parking operations for the locations assigned, while abiding by the standards and norms of Indigo.
  • Provide assistance in person and remotely to customers in the use of the automated parking equipment, recognizing and respecting the individual needs of each customer.
  • Completing and assisting in minor equipment repairs.
  • Assuring cleanliness of the parking registration desk and equipment.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • High level of interpersonal skills, including poise and diplomacy.
  • Good communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to customer service.
  • Ability to work with little supervision.
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools for making repairs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Employment is conditional on successfully passing a criminal record check.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $19.23 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 48 per week
